I can't take credit for noticing this, but LAX 737 CA and LAX 737 FO are now options for your Standing System Bid. The rumors about an LA crew base have surfaced again recently, and know that there was a meeting yesterday between the system staffing committee and the company, so maybe it's actually true this time

True- I would guess mid '05 or earlier to hold it.

CAL, the chief pilot came into GSR friday and said that there would be a lax base. He said not rumor but fact.

I don't buy it. Sure, maybe its in CCS but 6 months ago we also had a system bid to award spots on an airplane that will never enter production. Don't believe it until your operating flights out of there.

We do. You mean start and end a pairing out of there.

Yup its in our system bid. No firm numbers in there, just the option to choose it.

You could hold it now then lose it later after the seniority list gets solidified with UAL. Management could also reduce the base size after the integration and displace you that way as well.

I would hold off until the the debris cloud from this merger settles. If you live there or are highly mobile, maybe then go for it.

Anyone wanting to move their family or buy a house out there right away for this base would be crazy... Remember CAL lite.

The NWA pilots got an LAX base after the merger with DL, and there are plenty flying there now. (yes, they probably had a smaller LAX base 10 years ago, etc) I would assume you guys at CAL will have the chance for LAX or SFO in the future thanks to UAL.

Bye Bye---General Lee

Of course any new base wil be contingent on signing on the dotted line. What's that you want, mgt? DAL pay years 6-12, DAL complete lack of scope, CAL B-scale years 1-5, and CAL complete lack of work rules? Uh yeah, you can shove that new base, and did I mention FUPM? :angryfire

JI Gone, NavinRJohnson... you two sould like old ladies in a hair saloon- gossiping "oh wow, maybne it's true this time!!"
Look at the dates on that sys bid.. IT'S NOT A NEW BID- IT's an OLD bid from last summer (i would't be surprised if the company put it in there to inject some hope and quell the crowd down on the basis of "some hopeful news" here at CAL)..
You two and the rest of the sissys fell right into it..
Simply pathetic..
