Last night in LGA

I'm surprised nobody has posted this yet. Last night in LGA a Comair CRJ and a Colgan Saab bumped wings. The Winglet from the CRJ was stuck in the wing of the saab. The saab was escorted in next to us to gate 5. Anyone know how this happend?

This used to happen a lot when BEX and Comair parked against the blast fence. Dumb a$$ rampers forget about the winglet on the CRJ and think that the wing will go under the Saab's wing. We changed many Saab ailerons because of this.

I don't know which model CRJ but it occured while both aircraft were in taxi, with pax on board. When they came in the feds, the cops, the crew, and every ramper from the airport came over to take pictures with their cell phones. Sorda looked like a red and blue shark fin sticking out of the water.

All I heard is that the comair come from behind the saab and caught it supposedly in the aileron? Just like Wu was saying except during taxi. Thats all the details i have.

right aileron of the saab. It was caught from behind by the winglet. Part of the winglet is still stuck in the aileron. THe saab is still parked on 5A at lga.

right wing of the saab, both taxing out, happended right around the elbow of LGA (GG, S, G area) on B. I think it was a CRJ200 (Comair417)...wx conditions were severe clear, but, it was night time.

And exactly WHY are you surprised no one has posted anything about this. A Non-event.

This kinda crap happens, just like the rampers marshalling us into a fuel truck in LGA. It really isn't news anymore than a local fender bender, 'though I will say that it is "news" to the particular flight crews involved...
