Lasik in ATL? U.S.?

Anyone have a good recommendation for a lasik DR in the ATL area. Actually, I'm willing to go pretty much anywhere in the U.S. to get quality results

Don't really believe the lasikplus factories are the best route.

Price really can't be a factor when it comes to my eyesight, so I'm looking for the best of the best.

Any experience?

The first person you should be talking to is your AME.

MedEye Lasik.com - A. James Segal, M.D. F.A.C.S.

Dr. Segal was my choice because of your concerns about quality and qualifications. He has done wonderful things for friends serious eye problems and is on the top of my list. All my life I have had 20/70 vision. Now both are 20/20 at 63. I waited until 60 and retired from the airlines but wish I had done it decades ago.

Coop, you're wise to be cautious of who you go to.

Most people don't know that the procedure is not, in all likelihood, permanent. The fact that people's eyesight is slipping 7-10 years after this procedure has been kept pretty quiet. It's not hurting any OTHER part of people's vision, just have to wear glasses again.

Glasses or contacts cost about $200 a year * 10 years = $2,000 whereas LASIK runs about $5,000 or so if done by a GOOD eye surgeon...

I've heard a lot of good things about Emory.

Most people who have problems don't educate themselves prior to the procedure. As already said, don't go to a LASIK factory. You get what you pay for....

Also... Don't have the procedure until your prescription hasn't changed in 3 or so years. If you have it done while your eyes are still changing, you're going to get short lived results.

Where ever you go, check out the Doctor and see how many (if any) complaints he's had.

Is Lasik approved for foreign carrier flying? I mean, have the asian countries approved Lasik for pilots?
