I'm asking about this flight department out of sheer curiosity... There has to be someone out there that knows something about them besides the fact that they're based somewhere in SO Cal (VNY? LAX?)

Wonder who the pilots are? Is it a good job? What kind of "perks," etc? Must be interesting working for Larry Flynt and Hustler Magazine...

Happy Thanksgiving, Everyone!

Believe it or not they're based in Bakersfield, CA (BFL).....I used to work at IFTA which is right next to their hanger...don't know much about their operations but I can tell you that Bakersfield is about as redneck as California gets....

Maybe that's where Hustler finds their "high class talent"... ;) TC

Tail number 69HM. Used to be a G-II, now a G-IV painted all black !!!???? Airplane gets REALLY hot inside especially when they go to Vegas. Rumours of a stripper pole at the conference table are not true.....

D'oh. Forgot the 2 on the tail number.

Back when it was the G-II, they had a blond, female co-pilot. Not bad as I recall.

Yeah - I was in G IV recurrent in LGB with their driver last year, an old crochety but nice guy.. He said they only used contract help to warm the right seat. It seemed like he said they were in VNY, that may be bad info. Ebony paint job is correct!!

I met the same guy years back when it was the G-II. I asked him why the black paint and isn't it an oven in the back. He said he tried to talk Larry out of the black but he likes it. Also said it takes more than an hour in flight for the cabin to cool off after departing a sunny, warm-weather city. I guess Larry wants to make sure the girls on board don't wear much:beer:

"perks"

I suppose someone with your level of humility gets pretty curious about such things often. One can only wonder about the mind of a 72 year old retired airline captain. Well I'm sure that working for Larry Flynt can't be nearly as stimulating as all the different experiences you must have had, as an international captain. I hope that when I'm 72 I can have the level of curiosity that you do.
