Just completed the 12, 24, 48 month inspections along with 20yr xrays. Under budget, on time delivery, very good job on our Hawker 800a. Yall might want to consider this company for your future needs. Stay safe!
They did the 12 year on our 35 last year. Jimmy Hughes was the crew chief and he saw to it that we took the airplane home squawk free out of the hangar. That's virtually unheard of for coming out of a 12 year. Usually there are a few small gremlins that end up having to be worked out over the first few weeks but we had none. He was a proud dude sending that thing out the door - and with good reason.
Budget wise, however, they unfortunately came in way over. After our chief pilot blew a gasket they got it down to a more reasonable level, but they soured us on the billing.
Our mechanic always goes down there and cracks the whip on them with billing. He's very knowledgeable on our type and takes no crap. It's funny, the CP only lets the mech. go on the promise that he won't piss people off. In my very limited experience with them it seems like they'll try to get what they can and will back off a bit if pushed in regards to billing. We keep going back, though, so they must be doing something right.
Got a a heavy check coming up so we'll see how it shapes up this round.
When we budget for inspections, we usually multiply the quote times 2.5 and sometimes as much as 3 for heavy checks. That covers the gremlins and all that can come up. Also goes along way towards keeping the boss from getting slammed. Our CP is also an AI which helps. Stay Safe!
