Just got laid off from my dream corporate job last week and am looking frantically for work. I have become rather spoiled over the last three years flying as captain on the Citation X and VII. Made 6 trips to Europe during that time(in Paris on 9/11/01) and enjoyed extensive domestic travel with an average of 6 overnights per month. Upper management at my employer changed in October of last year and I have not flown an actual trip since then. One of the airplanes was sold and the aviation staff was cut in half. Guess I'm lucky I held on to my position (with pay) as long as I did.

As far as aviation job sites on the internet, I scour about 15 of them twice a day looking for hope. If anyone has any leads for employment I am all ears. I am willing to relocate and would even consider a job outside the US. I would be elated to fly contract but I don't know how to market myself or how to make those contacts.

This forum has a lot of hidden talent and has become a valuable lifeline for many including myself. Thanks to all on this forum for the entertainment & information I have enjoyed since I came on board.

Keep networking hard..

With good experience and a positive attitude like you have I bet you wont be out of work long!

Try to do some per-diem work to get a little more current possibly (?) If I read your post right you have not flown in 6 months (?) I would not doubt you could find some part-time stuff until the next "dream job" comes along!!

GOOD LUCK.

If it helps..... NONE of the qualified corp guys I know who have been laid off iover the last few years were ever out of work for more than 6 months, and most actually found equivelant or BETTER jobs! - some within weeks.
