Looking for opinions from those who use both Teterboro and Morristown. Which do you prefer? Why?

We've been considering using Morristown instead of Teterboro mainly to beat the typical 4PM TEB delays, especially in foul weather. Signature MMU provided great service last week when I was there, however, their fuel prices run about 40 cents more per gallon and parking fees are steep ($75/night).

All opinions welcome!

I vote for MMU.

There are less delays. It's not as crowded and less cluttered on the ground. Signature is expensive though. They have no competition at MMU.

When the weather is bad at MMU and the ILS is out we choose TEB as an alternate.

simply depends where your pax are going...

If they come from NYC via car, the 45 mins they sit in the comfy Falcon at TEBis a lot less than then they will sit on I-80 going out to KMMU at 4pm from the city...theres days you can sit over an hour looking at beautiful downtown Patterson...

everyone like MMU better but unfortunalty you cannot beat TEB location, theres a reason its crowded!!

Now, if your people do business in the North Jersey area...I think I would certainly go to MMU.

Thanks for the responses. TEB is convenient, thats for sure. Our passengers drove out from the city at 430PM and didn't have a problem.

I enjoyed the overnight at MMU, though maybe it just a nice break from Secaucus / Hasbrook Heights.

Thanks again.

NYC to MMU at 1630 and no traffic problem??? Hurry, find them and have them buy some powerball tix!!! With that kind of luck they're sure to at least split if not win the jackpot:D.

Rice,

Yeah, I'm not sure how they did it, but however....more power to them!

If you do overnight in KMMU may I suggest the Dublin Pub....
if its still there..been a few years...:(

MMU vs TEB

Remember all the departures go over the same departure fixes ie eliot coate etc.... delays would be the same. You may choose a low altitude "escape route" to get out of NY center, but this may backfire as well. I would like to hear some feedback on other operators procedures to "escape the NY area"

Maybe they rode over in the Company helo?

Thats the only way you wont sit in that F'n parking lot called New Jersey. What a ghetto.....

Try EWR

We quit going to in to TEB back in March, after a bad deicing experience and some poor customer service at one of the FBOs. We've been using EWR ever since. Like MMU, Signature is the only game in town, so costs are higher, but EWR is as close to Manhattan (the financial district anyway ... midtown's a little further) as TEB and a whole lot closer than MMU. Our pax like the FBO, we've gotten in in wx that had TEB shut down, traffic problems aren't too bad for the pax going to and from the city, and we've never waited more than 30 minutes to take off even in the 4-6PM window when the line stretches the length of TEB. To us, the convenience is worth the higher costs. Of course, that's a subjective judgment.

Also had good luck once or twice with HPN when we had a split load ... one group on the plane going to Stamford, the other group to Manhattan. The Manhattan crowd said the ride in and out took only slightly longer than TEB or EWR (at least from midtown, downtown would be longer).

If the problem is ground delays, airport-shopping helps. If the problem is ATC or enroute wx, as previously mentioned, it doesn't matter where you go, because everybody's headed for LANNA, WHITE, etc.

We go out over WHITE from EWR and have had no problems getting southbound fairly quickly ... usually can get up to 11,000 with little or no intermediate level-off (in a KA 200) then step up from there. Delay vectors have yet to be issued, though ... usually the only problems are getting higher, not getting further south.

I can say with 100%, absolute, total, undefiable confidence, they did not ride the helo out to MMU.
