Does anyone know where Kitty Hawk (outer banks) (a tour and charter company) is located in North Carolina please? I'm not talking about the big kitty hawk people out of Dallas mind you, just to lessen the confusion. Thanks.

I used to do a freight run into Manteo years back. I believe they are somewhere around there. Maybe first flight airport.

Try calling the Manteo airport, they can probably tell you.

I worked there for a day and then walked out. I went there all the way from Nothern California after the chief pilot painted a very rosy picture of the operation. The day I got there, I could not meet with him because the feds had been there earlier in the day and had found some unsafe procedures. I know that they encourage you to put four people in a Cessna 172 not including you. You are flying from a very short runway with swirling winds and tall trees at either end. Yeah,, you can fly 100 hours a month or more, but consider the tradeoff of safety and career versus quick time building. My advice to you is to try to get on with a traffic watch outfit and build time if you are not into CFI/II work. If you meet the requirements for FAR 135 VFR, try Grand Canyon tour ops in Las Vegas. Fun place to be and build time quickly. If you hang out long enough, some operators will move you up to their twins. Good luck.
