A few years ago, there was a kitplane that was designed to use a 351 ford V-8. Two seat tandem, low wing ... one pictured in flight was blue.
Does anyone remember the name of the kit builder? Any info helpful.
Thanks

There was the Legend, but I think that used a big-block Chevy V-8.

There are several companies that make a PRSU intended to allow using an automotive V-8 in an experimental aircraft. It's all a question of how much you trust those belts!

Was it the Sport Racer designed by David Blanton from Wichita, KS?

It used a Ford V-6 (3.8L) from a Taurus attached to a Javelin reduction unit (one of which I happen to have in the back of the hangar -- make offer).

The one I am thinking about was in Kitplanes magazine about 10 or 12 years ago... It was featured in the yearly edition of available kits..and it was designed to use the Ford 351. There is or was a machine shop in Jupiter, Florida that builds a reduction gearbox for use on V8s. All gears.. no belts.

IF you are gonna put belt reduction on it might as well put a CV transmission on it? That way you have the CV propeller.
