How would you log king air time if you were flying as the sic? Example you fly every other leg and the company policy requires sic ect. Per the regs if the a/c is under 12500 and you hold all of the ratings you can log it as pic. The only problem I have with that is I didn't sign for the airplane so therefore i am not the pic. The airplane doesn't require an sic so therefore I wouldn't feel comfortable putting the time down as sic. The only thing I can think of is to log it a dual recieved if the pic is a mei. Open to your thoughts.

I log my legs only and then only as PIC...don't know how else to log it.

"Signing for the airplane" is not in the regs. If you are sole manipulator, you log PIC(in that airplane). It doesn't matter whether the airplane requires 2 pilots; If their certificate requires 2 pilots then you can log SIC when not flying.

My question to you is, why do you not know this? AND, at the beginning of your post it says it requires an SIC and at the end you say it doesn't. WHICH IS IT?

The question is put in this section to ask fractional pilots how would an interview board look at this time? I understand the regs and sole manipulator of the controls, but not all companies look at it in this way. Some want to see pic time as the time that you were the final authority when it comes to operating the aircraft. Logging sic time in a king air would not be a good move either in my opinion since the type cert does not call for one. What I am trying to clear up is I have only put down the time that I was the pilot flying the aircraft, but I was not the person reponsible for the aircraft. Would I like to log it as pic, yes. Regs aside was I really be the pic, I don't think so. How do you log that?

Ok, just put an asterik next to the time you log PIC in the king air. If it comes up, then you know how much to reduce your PIC (signed for aircraft)time by.

This is why I have put it down as dual recieved. How does a C.S. sic log CJ time? Would this not be the same?

As an MEI...I can log PIC...when I'm instructing. Otherwise, only when I'm acting as PIC whether I'm in the right seat or left, doesn't matter. When I'm a gear-b!tch for insurance or just riding along in the right seat, I log nothing.

Bummer to be in a twin of any kind that doesn't require a second pilot but insurance or the customer does. Kinda hoses ya.

The C.S. sic is able to log sic time because 91k requires a sic for all operational 91k legs.

I fly a pc 12 for a 91k operator and I log sic time everytime it is a 91K leg because the regs call for it. Anytime it is just a 91 flight such as a dead head I can only log time if I am the pilot flying the leg.
