Hi guys,

I did a search for this but couldnt really find what I needed. I'm looking for a figure for a B200 Captain in the southeast. Approx 200 hrs/yr, all part 91, plus managing the aircraft. I have the propilot numbers, but would like the NBAA average and any real world figures you have.

Thanks!

In the Houston area, a part 91 BE-20 capt job should be in the mid 60's. More if they like you and want to keep you, less if they want you to keep looking for something better.

Oh well...I kinda hoped for more than one response, but thanks 'Block, I appreciate the input.

I had a friend flying and managing a B200 about five years ago that was making 70k plus benefits in South Carolina. When I flew one I was making half that. Boxflyr

Personally, I've never placed much attention to any of the salary surveys. You buddy is going to have to negotiate his salary and if he's any good at that he should be able to get $75K to $90K+.

90K+ for flying a KA in the SE?? In your dreams...

NE KA pay is around 65K, would assume Southeast pay should be about 55-60K.

55 or 60 is probably high in the SE nowadays. I had a heck of a time getting that for a Citation and that was as aircraft manager and SP ops.(Still not what I should be, but it's got lots of time off to do contract work plus perks like company car etc.) Too many Nascar guys working themselves silly 6 days a week in jets for 65K to get much higher for a 3 day a week gig.(Living in a big furlough base doesn't help) We are getting killed by the stooges that are willing to fly for peanuts. I know the two KA ops on our feild do not make anywhere near 55 k (King Air 200 36k a year pt 91 and they had 30 guys with King Air time falling over themselves for the job), and the most senior KA-200 Capt. at the local med flight outfit is lucky if he gets 50K with overtime and he is a check airman. I was told that the Citation drivers over there (C-V) make 43 in the left seat. That is 135 so it is slightly less than 91.

On the other hand I know a 700 hour guy at our airport that makes 40K + benifits to fly a Cirrus 4 days a week! Strange times we live in.

Thanks for the input guys. Kerosene Snorter, you sound like you're in CLT?

$90K is possible for a King Air 200, granted his department downsized from a medium jet, and the cost of living where he’s at would make $45K in Alabama seem like a raise, but there is at least one King Air driver in the US that making $90K!

Realistically shoot for $60K, and have a plan for concessions. If you say $75K, and they come back with $50K, say you’ll take it, but only if they include a new Lexus SUV every 2 years, 5 weeks of vacation, guaranteed stock options/profit sharing, dry cleaning, etc. Seriously figure out how much it’ll cost you to lease a car every year, how much a contract pilot would cost to cover your vacations, how much you pay a year in cell phones, etc. and use those numbers to your advantage when you negotiate.

Basics like insurance should almost never be negotiated. It’ll cost you a lot more to get health insurance than getting on a company’s group plan.

I really need to find these companys that are paying 60k most here in the midwest are paying 40k for a king air driver I would like to hear from a king air 200 driver that makes that much

the pro pilot issue states the charter king air 200 driver is 60 high 36 low and average is 46 the corporate king air 200 driver is 76 high 54 low and average is 64k good luck

The last thing you ever want to do is believe any of the figures in the Pro Pilot and B/CA salary surveys. I've read them for years and I (and the guys I flew with) always made more they they indicated. The simple fact is that most of the higher paid guys simply don't take the time to fill out the forms when they're mailed to us. Higher paid guys are out there, but they're usually "well seasoned" if you know what I mean. I'll put it another way, if someone wanted me to fly a KA200 (or any other airplane for that matter) they'd have to pay me well over $100K to do so. I've never wanted for a job for very long.

Well to tell a family secret (looking around covertly..) there are a few rednecks in the ole family tree!! In fact I had been flying the 737 for 2 years before I found out it was called anything other than "Bubbajet!" Imagine my surprise!!! I had to reprint business cards and everything. :)

Try SpitFire Aviation in Concorde NC right outside of CLT. . They pay 200 Captains $31,000 a year, 24/7 on call, 5 vacation days a year. You are also flying right seat in the Lear when not on the King Air. $31k a year, think about that one "friends".....
