Hello! anyone have any information on hiring for KC-10 boom operators. I was an instructor boom in KC-135, but there is no future in the 135 progroam.

Im a freshman in college right now, and i just soloed for the first time this morning.

i'm really interested in flying for ANG when i graduate. what can i do between now and then to make myself look very competitive? I know about the 201+ hours, what else is there?

I only had 60hrs and PPL when I got picked up so it isnt all about the flying. What is about is defintitely doing the best you can on the BAT, AFOQT and GPA in college. Extra activities look good too.

Google air force reserve

And maybe the world wide boom website. Also boomoperator.us.

You probably have to know someone in the unit. They used to have units at Travis AFB CA, McGuire AFB NJ, and Seymour Johnson AFB NC. No idea where they all are now.

As far as the college GPA goes, considering two people had the same exact qualifications, would they hire the bussiness major with a 3.5 GPA or the mech engineering major with a 3.1? I ask because engineering is harder than lots of other majors and people usually get lower GPAs in engineering majors. Do they prefer technical majors?
