Hey guys, there is some good reading in the May issue about a soldier that Kalitta flew home. It's the one with Jessica Simpson shaving her face on the cover. I haven't even finished the article yet and I had to post on here to share with you guys. It is a very fine piece so far.

I flew my 154th soldier yesterday and this article has really hit me. There are 154 stories just like this from just the guys I have taken home over the last 14 months and as a whole we are at just about 1000 since we started I think. I of course don't want anything political to come up of this, just the amount of respect I have for these guys is tremendous and I think it's a good article.

If you think of it, raise a glass, say a prayer or just think about one of these guys when you get a chance, seems that election news has pushed our troops to the back burner lately.

I just finished reading that article right before I saw your post. A very good read. Having a little brother serving in the Air Force, I just got a little choked up reading about it all and the story of Sergeant Montgomery.

Much respect to you guys over there at Kalitta for adding a level of respect and dignity to these men and women's last trips home. I just silently toasted my glass of Crown in honor of our Soldiers, Marines, and Airmen...wherever they are serving tonight. May they never have to ride home with you.

Thanks for posting the information on the article. I woke up earlier than I wanted as often happens with too may time zones in too few a days and was moved by the article. I have the honor of seeing the members of the finest armed forces in the world at the beginning and end of thier tours all the while knowing more are taken in country than are coming home with thier units. Too many have come home early with an honor guard around them instead of thier buddies. I pray for peace and I thank God for those who answer the call to duty.

Wow. Hardest thing I've ever read.

I started a young man (our only pax) on his way back to the war tonight. It felt like crap to be honest.

Don't have anything else to say.

It has been my honor and priviledge to greet 3 of the Kalitta flights on their return. If only in life we could bring the level of respect and care we do in death perhaps fewer would die.
The process to unload is slow and repsectful and for those of us with sons, it is a moment that we cannot help but think what if it was my son. What a tremendous article.

that is quite a read.....leaves me speechless. If someone knows how they could post the link over on the majors board and let that pack of spineless wimps from suburbia who never did anything close to hard pause from their squabbles over delta/nwa or who is a swa poolie and read about real life........

I doubt anyone can read that and keep a dry eye.

I have been getting that mag for 5 or 6 years, and never have I been moved more from reading.
The author put you THERE.
