Does anyone have any info on Kalitta Charters (the one flying Lears and Falcons). How do they compare to the other freighters such as Cherry, Amerisar, and Active Aero. How is the work rules/pay ect.

Do a search

It has been covered here many times, recomomend seperate seraches under Kalitta, USa Jet, Cheery Air, and Ameristar.

Not knowing what type of flying you are accustomed to, with these operations, your life is THE JOB. USA JET (Active Aero) is probably the most livable of the operators you posted. Kalitta Charters is less civilized,,,and the other two I wouldnt bother with.

P.S. I guess Ameristar is OK if you dont have a place to live or dont like to go home.

"Kalitta Charters is less civilized". What do you mean by this. Do you know what kind of schedule they have.

Hi!

Since U mentioned it, what IS the schedule at Kalitta?

USAJet is 10 days off within every 28 day cycle (Falcons) and 12 days off every 28 for DC-9s. (That's 18 days working/10 days off or 16 days working/12 days off.)

When I was there it was 7 am Monday morning to 7 am Saturday morning unless you had weekend duty, which was supposedly one weekend a month. In reality you probably got one weekend off a month because they are the KINGS of one-way billing to the border. So if you got a Mexico trip on Friday evening it was,,,,"see you on Tuesday when we can get a trip back for ya".

Conversely USA JET (I have alot of friends that work there) would try to avoid this situation by Using their designated weekend crew for a trip like this. At Kalitta they did the exact opposite,,,they wanted to SAVE their weekend crew for the weekend at YIP.

So as a consequense at Kalitta all your weekend plans better be dumpable or you will be dissapointed almost everytime.
