I heard Kalitta is having a class of 16 FO's in September. Has anyone interviewed or been called for a class date?

Anyone interviewed with Atlas or Polar? I heard rumors they were going to hire 60 this year and at least 60 next year.

Do you work for Kalitta? do you know if they are done interviewing for the sept. class?

Sounds about right

I have several friends at Atlas. It sounds like they've already hired about 40. There are rumors of some more classes this fall and winter.

All hiring has been for Stansted, England.

I don't know anything about Polar except that they've had some hiring for the JFK base.

Good luck.

Called for Class Date

KA ran interviews on August 11 / 12 at Ypsilanti, followed by sim evaluations in Denver on August 12 / 13. Not sure how many interviewed. I interviewed/sim evaluated on 12 / 13, and was called August 16 by the Chief Pilot and offered a FO position. :) The class has 12 FOs, and 6 FEs.

Class start date is September 7 . . .

Any others heading to YIP ?

G' Luck to all !

I just got an email from the training department and you are right, 12 FO's and 6 FE's.

This is suppose to be the last class of the year, but hopefully things will pick up again the first of the year.

The April class had 12 FO's and 7 finished training.
The June class had 12 FO's and 10 finished training
The Sept class will have 12 FO's and if all finish that means.
Only 29 FO's for the year!

They are upgrading 8 FO's this month and 10 FO's next month.

We need more FO's to cover the schedule, so I think you'll see more hiring sooner than later. Rumor has it Connie will be adding 2 more airplanes this year.

There's a lot of good people here at Kalitta and the flying is fun too, always something different. Layovers in HKG, AMS, ANC, HNL, LAX, JFK, not to mention the B747 with the new CMA-900, which is a FMS system with a EADI and EHSI. This is a really nice upgrade and brings the B747 Classic into the 21st century.

Scheduling is still a problem, but you can time out without too much trouble since we are so short of FO's.

Afterprop congrats on your new job!

The other Kalitta

Just curious about the Kalitta air charter division. The old days had them flying lears and Volpar Beech 18's but read somewhere they have DC9's and 72's now? Just curious as what is left in YIP these days. Was there back in the day 1988/89. I also flew 9's and loved the airplane.

The charter stuff (lears/falcons/etc) is a different company. The Lears and Falcons are at Kalitta Charters. The DC9 and 727 are at Kalitta Charters II. The 747s are at Kalitta Air.

I'm sure Connie has some sort of control of all of them, even if they have one else's name as President. The lears and Falcons are run from a different building. The 727 and DC9 is dispatched in the same building as Kalitta Air.

I think the DC9 does the typical ad-hoc stuff that has been going on at YIP forever. The lears and Falcons are the same deal too. Dunno about the 727 though..

93% vote?

What does that have to do with this thread?
