Well, it finally happened - Kalitta Air (the 747 guys) is now a member of CASS. We have reports of Kalitta guys using CASS to sit in the front - it's great news.

If you want to jumpseat on Kalitta Air, you can check out our schedule at www.kalittaair.com - to book a jumpseat call operations and they should be able to help you. International travel will need 24 hours notice I believe.

Some choice routes we fly regularly are:
LAX-HNL-LAX
ICN-ANC-LAX-SFO-ANC-ICN
JFK-BRU-BAH-DXB-BRU-JFK
EWR-LGG-BAH-AMS-EWR
ANC-ORD-JFK
ANC-LCK-JFK
EWR-LGG-BAH-HKG
And plenty of flights out of HKG to the US.

All flights have bunks and most have first class seats with good catering. It's a nice ride...

We will take anybody that is CASS...if you are not, then you might need agreement.

Y'all come give it a try....much better/laid back/ comfortable than the Pax birds.

I believe that Kalitta, like most 747 freighters, has no cockpit door. Just a big apartment on the upperdeck with the cockpit by the big front windows.

Calling it a big apartment is about right - it's got lots of room, nice comfy seats, bunks, microwave, oven and coffee maker, places to plug in your laptop, food and cooler with drinks and ice.

I'm telling you - I really prefer deadheading on my own plane rather than a commercial flight.

I second that. Rather be on the upper deck of a K4 bird than in the middle seat (window or aisle for that matter) than any pax bird.

Cool. I thought CASS is only domestic US? Do you allow anyone in CASS on the Intl. J/S?

That is true...they use a different system for Intl J/S...If you are not on the list, have your people call our people and get on the list.
