Jumpseating

I'm rather new to this but im looking for some advice on jumpseating to and from Canada. If i'm part of CASS can i just hop on any CASS carrier and go to Canada? Do i have to pay taxes? Also when i am coming back do I just use my crew badge to go through customs and go to the gate agent? Do I have to pay taxes when jumpseating from Canada back into the states? Thanks in advance!
