I know this isn't really the right forum.. but most of you guys have a lot of jumpseating experience so I figure i'll start here.

I'm going on a golf trip in a couple weeks and I want to take my clubs, and I'm planning on just using my jumpseating privileges to travel. Is there a way to do this??

Way back in the day I flew standby once or twice with my clubs, but back then they would just put them on any flight and they would sit until I got there.

Has anyone does this, how does it work..I know when we have standby passengers they give them a ticket, and then if they get on the plane we give the ticket to the rampers and they load the checked bags, can I do something like this. Any insight would be appreciated.

Jumpseating with checked bags is pretty much like non-rev with checked bags (golf clubs or anything else). I have done it a couple of times but usually prefer to fedex my clubs to the course or hotel. With a discount usually costs 35-50 bucks.

alright.. thanks..

I wondered about the FedEx route.. we get like 65 or 75% off so that could be an easier way to go...

It's certainly a lot less hassle, which to me is easily worth 50 bucks.

Fed Ex them . . . you can get special cardboard boxes that are made for club bags at most any local box supply store (not uhaul joints tho). I regularly fedex my clubs to MYR and HHH and Florida for 23-30 bux from east of the Mississippi and north of the frost line for price comparison.

I've done it a few times. No big deal but if Fedex is less hassle, then it sounds like that would work better. I'm too cheap to Fedex, and try to travel with my clubs, so as long as there is a seat on the flight, I jump with them
