Ticket counter to pay taxes and get flight coupon. Then go to the check-in counter even if you are not checking bags to check in and be activated. Then go to the gate and wait for a boarding pass.

It's much more involved than that. You have to be on the GENDEC.

In my experience, it was not more involved than that. I went to the ticket counter to list and to pay the taxes. Then I went to the check-in counter to activate. I then went through security straight to the gate. With the exception of having to wait in three seperate lines, it was very easy and hassle free.

GENDEC has never been the case unless jumpseating on a cargo carrier.

I've always gone to the check-in counter first, they list you and ticket you, then they tell you to go pay the taxes, which will be fairly high flying from Europe.

You only have to be on the GenDec if you are are going to be in the cockpit. Which they don't allow. What sat74 said is correct.

exercising you jumpseat privs (by getting a seat in the back) and sitting in the actual cockpit are 2 very different things. As an offline, you cannot sit in the cockpit. this is a CASS thing (ran by the TSA). No gender required, as you will have a seat in the back. go to the counter, pay your taxes, and if you're lucky, you'll get a seat assignment.
