Jumpseat question for DL guys

Can the WO's (ASA and CMR) ride up front even if there are seats in the back?

The reason I ask is because recently on a 767, the only seat available was a middle seat between Jethro and Bubba and hindsight being 20/20 I wondered if I could have been more comfortable up front.

I don't think the "rules" allow that, but it depends on the Capt sometimes----OFFICIALLY I would say NO----OFFICIALLY.....
