Hey, gang,
I'm a furloughed 121 guy, working for my old 135 operator out of ELP. I live in ATL and need to be able to get back and forth on weekends, or whenever I can. Can aybody shed any light on who might be a good jumspeat option for these areas? 121 or 135. Or any advice at all, otherwise regarding jumpseating as a 135 guy. I have an airport badge(pic, company name, etc), so that's a step in the right direction. Who's 135 friendly?

Thanks

I've heard that ASA will take any 135 or 121 pilot...but I haven't tried it myself. Find an ASA pilot and ask what their policy is.

my 135 company has an agreement with airtran....other than that i know that we have had our guys jump with jet blue and ATA... they will take 135 guys often.

The real problem I've found is getting past the holier-than-thou gate agents. I have an aircrew ID badge but we're not on "the list" at many airlines. I think ATA and Air Tran are some of the few that we have officially. Tried to jump on a direct flight with Pinnacle (NW Airlink) out of MSP since my company had booked me on a flight with conncetions. The gate agent wouldn't even ask the Captian if it was ok. I've heard if you get to talk to the Captain you're usually in. These guys know it's just another pilot trying to get home. The gate agents apparently think they're going to single-handedly avert another 9-11.

You know im thinking we may work for the same 135. Getting to Dallas from Atlanta should be real easy but that second leg to El Paso will be tough when ASA pulls out of DFW in January.

SWA has a flight to ELP just about every hour but you'd have to get a cab or take a tram ride between DFW and DAL.

Who knows maybe AirTran will start adding some routes as they get more planes.

Hope it helps, good luck
