Could someone tell me if its possible to jumpseat/nonrev and take a surboard along. I know that to some this may be a dumb question but even as a paying customer this can be a pain in the ass.

I had crashpad roommate who would surf Costa Rica. He would standby check it (if off line) and get a JS request at the counter. I believe he used an O'Neal padded case for his short board tri-fin. I would not bring a long board. Also, many good shops will rent or let you demo a board. I know some boards are out there that allow you to remove the fin to facilitate being crammed into a cargo hold. Good luck-

Ask the FO nicely to go look to see if they put it on the aircraft---I would do it for you....(we go to San Jose, Costa Rica daily from ATL---767-200 right now and a 738 to Liberia, Costa Rica 5 days a week also----jumpseater welcomed)

Bye Bye--General Lee:cool:
