Was looking for any info on Jumpseating out of ANC to GUM.? I'm heading out to GUM in the end of Jan. and was hoping I could just jump a freighter ANC to NRT and then Jumpseat or ZED NRT to GUM on Northwest or Continental..?
Anyone done this or have any info?
Apparently, Polar, Atlas, Kalitta, and Southern will take international jumpseaters, but UPS and Fedex will not..?
Thanks in advance

Haven't done ANC to the Kmart of the Pacific, but have done it via LAX. Kalitta is a great way to go LAX to HNL to GUM, but as I recall the GUM leg is a one-way route, there was none from GUM back to HNL. last time I was out there I returned via NRT on Northwest, and if they hadn't taken me I would have been stranded in Narita and I'd probably still be there to this day, wandering the streets and mumbling to myself.

Kalitta, in summary, had (westbound) LAX to HNL to GUM, but, eastbound on that route, there was no GUM to HNL, though there was an HNL to LAX. So your weak link is (if things haven't changed) eastbound from GUM to HNL. Continental is your best bet here, they had (last I checked) an island hopper that goes from GUM east through various islands and up to HNL.

What you don't want to do (trust me on this) is get stranded in GUM while having to get home in a hurry, airfares are insanely expensive out there, so you are wise to think it through before you leap that way.

PM me if you want, my information is dated but I used to travel the area.

CO does GUM/HNL daily in a 767 I think. NWA has 2 a day ANC/NRT on a freighter and 2 pax NRT/GUM

Thanks for all the info.
Last time I did this I jumped UAL SFO to HNL and then Continental HNL to GUM. On the way back I got stuck going through NRT because the HNL loads were full. Problem was that Continental apparently doesn't allow international jumpseaters. Had to buy a full fare ticket last minute to NRT to catch the Northwest NRT to SEA.

The northwest freighter ANC to NRT sounds good, but will they allow international jumpseaters?

My other angle is Alaska Airlines ANC to HNL and then the Kalitta run HNL to GUM..
Thanks
