hi all. i'll be starting my training for PPL through CFII in June, and I was wondering if you think it will be worth my while to join AOPA at this time. should i join when i start my lessons for PPL or later?

Join now. You can get a free 6 month membership, and after that you will spend the best $39 a year you could possibly spend. You will get Flight Training magazine or AOPA Pilot magazine (your choice), but even better, you will have access to back issues of all their magazines, articles and other priceless info. via their website. They will be able to answer just about any question you might have related to your quest. Good Luck!

AOPA is a valuable resource for all GA matters including a thourough and helpful medical certification department who can tell you the best ways to keep your med cert if something pops up, as well as medications.

Also, spend the extra bucks on the legal services plan. Worth it should a need ever arise.

While I find myself not agreeing with AOPA on a large variety of issues, they are your best friend if the need arises.

I agree with the previous posts. AOPA has excellent resources regardless of the stage of your flying career. I joined before completing my private and have found useful information for training, as an aircraft owner and now as a flight instructor.
