Sorry if this has been visited already, but I did a search...

I stopped by the John Deere hangar last time I was in MLI, and got a tour from the chief pilot. I was curious if anyone had any QOL, RON, or hiring info for them. They had a Citaion VII and a Citation X, call sign was "John Deere" then the Mach # for the flight. I guess they fly the X around as "John Deere 92".

Chief pilot said they hire "guys just like you" refering to us lowly 421 drivers, anyone get in within the last year?

Now thats the dream job for me.....flying for John Deere.....hopefully i could get a good deal on a few tractors. I would love to be a farmer on the side.

Sorry i didnt have any usfull info.

Used to be a premier flight department before they let Scott Lucas go...

One good thing they did was to get rid of the slower GV for the faster CE-750.

GVFlyer.....gotta get the punches in when we can.

I'll race you anytime - New York non-stop to Tokyo with winter winds (you know the GV has the New York to LA record, too...right?), but if I need to go really fast from, say, New York to Dayton, Ohio then I'll consider the X. ;)

--- sound of crickets chirping ---

(X drivers scratching thier heads.......)

I heard a funny thing the other day.
Cleveland Center: Execjet 9XX, maintain .86 or less please.

Probably stuck behind GVFlyer.

Still faster than me, but it would be interesting to know what percentage of flight time the CE 750 actually gets to fly .9 or better.
As in fleet average. I'm sure some flight depts do it alot and some not so much.

Did I kick your dog or something?

Yes, the Citation X can do M 0.92, but Cessna claims normal cruise to be M 0.85 with a range of 2,978 nm. Normal cruise for the Gulfstream G550 is also M 0.85 with a range of 6,000 nm. G550 published high speed cruise is M 0.87 with a range of 5,000 nm, but I've averaged M 0.88 on a flight from New York to Hawaii which is 4,534 nm.

The only time I get slowed down is in the terminal area and I suspect it's the same for the X drivers.

GV,

No insult intended. There is no doubt the G-550 is an awsum plane.

You are the one saying from New York to Dayton the X might be faster. And it was Cleveland Center I heard it on.

So what is MMO for the G-550?
and what is the range for the X @ .92

I remember a long time ago you and some X drivers were having a friendly argument about who's better.
