If one were looking for a CFI/Anything Job in the chicago area....namely southside, and had 600 hrs, where would they want to look?

I think there are still a couple of flight schools out of Midway... now that is some good experience. If they're hiring I don't know though. You could look out west at Dupage or Aurora or further south in the Joliet area and such. Just do a search for flight schools at AOPA's website and give them a call or even visit. Get your resume and when you visit, leave it foir them, even if not hiring, to keep on file (hopefully not the circular file!)

He said the southside, the above stated areas are west, northwest and southwest not south. Midway used to have a few thriving flight schools, this is over so forget that idea. The south side has Lansing IGQ with 3 flight schools, Gary GYY which also has a few. If you are willing to drive another few miles there is Griffith 05C? as well.

mnixon, If you have your MEI, you will be a shoe in at IGQ, they need a multi instructor now.

Lewis U is a 25 minute ride on I-55 to 53 from MDW. I like IGQ. Theres also Clow in Bolingbrook, which is kind off of I-55. Joliet Mun is off I-55 too. Morris is I-55 to I-80. If you want extreme south side, take I-57 to Kankakee, not really the "south side...." but you might as well stop at IGQ cuz its on the way!

Then, if you have enough tailwheel time, you could tow gliders at Hinckley.

None of the above is the south side, except for IGQ. MDW is actually SW side.

I work for Midway Aviators, one of the schools out of midway. We'll be opening a second school out of Lansing (IGQ) in the spring and currently looking for instructors. If your interested fax a resume to (773) 767-9800. Hope to hear from you!

Aren't you already working out of CBA's hanger? You know, the one with the AZTRUCK and 172's? Or are you another FBO start up? The only place I can see you working out of is the new hanger owned by Sun Aero.
