What do you all think of the Air Inc. job fairs with regards to the fractional companies? Seems like all had been at them at one time or another last year. Do people really get interviews/jobs at them, or are they a waste of money?

I don't know if they help or not, but I hate to see anyone send one cent to that loser Kit Darby.....

Seminar was good

I attended to the DC seminar two weeks ago and got some good information. I think the seminars have great value. I went to the resumes, interviews, and military transition seminars as well as the job fair. Good chance to network with others looking for work and offering work. Had a United 777 captain in some of the workshops and he attended the fair as well (he has to retire at age 60, but still wants to work). He thought it was worth it.

I was hired at NetJets as a result of attending a job fair. Now this was early last year and NetJets had serious recruiting problems due to the low pay. Derinda and Jerry looked like the Maytag Repair Techs at the fair. Everyone was lined up at SWA, Cathay, & AWA. But making face to face contract with one of them can be very valuable. Derinda called me 2 days after the fair to schedule an interview and I started indoc 6 weeks later.

I think its sad that KD has to charge as much as he does. I'm all for free enterprise but how much is enough? Anyway, I do have to say I've been to two job fairs and got hired both times. My only advise is to be careful who you apply to. You might get the job. Research careully if your going to an unknown that sounds too good to be true. (Read Amerijet here)

Good luck.

I actually hate to see any money going to him because of his actions during the Netjets pilot negotiations, but that is another story. I do agree his prices are a bit high from what I remember. I have never sent him a penny, but I remember seeing how much he was charging a few years ago, when the Majors actually were hiring.

I have a friend who went to the ATL fair for the sole purpose of seeing CS. He told them up front he was here to see one company and he negotiated a 50% discount on the entry fee. He was hired by CS.

I got my Airtran and Netjet interview thru the DFW Air inc. conference.....

It was worth it to me...
