MAKES NO SENSE!!!

EJM has furloughed pilots, sent them to Netjets, Netjets didn't hire them and EJM needs pilots.
Something is wrong at EJM.

Yeah that's an understatement but I won't say too much on a public forum such as this.

Anyway - regards the job - from what I hear it's a pretty decent gig but the problem is most of the Falcon 50 Captains that got "furloughed"(read as terminated) have 1)either found other employment 2)don't want to live there or 3)are so disgusted with EJM that they would rather do something else than fly for them again. Very few of the FO's that were "furloughed" have meet the flight time requirements that I feel are a little too high but what do I know - I'm just a dumb ole' pilot.

WTFO???

Okay fellas, most of you around here know that I got my present job because of the help of someone else on this board. And me being me, I decided that I would do what I could to help out the next guy. Most of us know what its like to be unemployed in this biz. I pass along job info whenever I see something and I haven't seen it posted here before.
Well over the last few months, whenever I post a job ad, I get flamed by some guy (via a PM) who thinks I shouldn't be doing this. Last time he blasted me for posting something I found on NBAA's Airmail site and I just got flamed for posting this one. Here it is;
NONONONO!!!!!!!!
Jeeeeezus Rice!!! C'mon man- I thought we covered this!!!!!
If these other clowns aren't RESOURCEFUL enough to already have registered with EJM ,then ,as before---SCREW EM!!! DON'T SPOONFEED EM!!! Christ!!!! If they can't figure out on their own how to properly pursue EVERY CONCEIVABLE AVENUE to find a job than they DON'T DESERVE ONE!!!!! There's enough **CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED** competition out there- Let those of us who DO the work reap the benefits- Need I say more???

This guy only lurks on the board as his profile indicates no posts which makes me think I should just ignore him but I thought I'd throw it out there for all to comment on.

Nice Guy...

he sounds like an a$$hole.

Why is it that pilots are like dogs protecting thier food when they think they have a lead on a job opening?

This guy must think he is the only one who knows about this position

The industry is bad right now, but I can't ever imagine it being bad enough that I wouldn't help a friend out with a job.

Ladies & Gentlemen of the forum, please ... allow me to translate:

"I've got mine, screw everyone else." :)

BTW - For those of you (including Rice), that offer these tidbits, Thank you. We do appreciate the employment leads, even though we do our own research.

WTFO?

Rice and others: I have played this game for many years and I have always passed on information about jobs to others just because the job might be better than the one they had. I hoped that they would do the same for me. You never know when the job you have may vanish.
I have known guys like the one Rice mentions and I can assure you that if I know about a job that was next door to him, he wouldn't here about it from me.

Having been around this industry, mainly corporate, for many years now, I can tell you this with absolute certainty:

"One person's dream job is another person's worst nightmare."

Rice and others, keep posting every job lead you hear of. Screw those out there who disagree. You may make someone's day (and career) if they pursue and land job from a lead posted here or anywhere for that matter.

I'd like to think with all the pilot's on the streets looking right now, even if it were a BAD job, it's a job until something else comes along.

What was grandpa's old saying? "Don't look a gift horse in the mouth?"

Regards,
2000Flyer

I for one am greatful for those that will help out others. I've been on the other side of the fence-NO FLYING JOB! and your wondering how your going to pay the Mortgage, car payment, etc. I hope no one has to go through this situation. With todays aviation troubles-its nice that others will help each other out.

When my company went out of business after 11 years of employment-myself and many fourlough or out of work pilots got together weekly and brain stormed trying to find out who is hiring and where might the next big lead come from. Working in numbers is a hell of a lot better than working on your own.

This individual just doesn't have the BIG PICTURE!

Thanks to those that do care!

Helping others....

Rice Baby....Relax take breath, and repeat after me, F those guys who are flaming you, and BBQ rules!!! Now, don't you feel better?

Hey BTW, is WP having a BBQ down the shore this year? Are you invited. I'll be having one hopefully around Septemberish w/the new Casa', I'll drop you an invite, just don't bring him.....
Now its time to turn on Fox.....

My experience...

I can tell you that every job I have gotten has been as a result of a lead that I got from a guy that I had already given a lead to.

All I can say is that what goes around comes around (the good and the bad).

I wouldnt worry about the A$$ hole that wrote the note. He will get the job he deserves.

you know its a small world out there and the aviation community is a lot smaller than others may think......................... i say thank you to everyone who sends a lead ................. and to those who think it is wrong then i can assure you .....you dont know everyone who knows of a job so just keep shooting yourself in the foot but don't take us along for the ride

Rice,

Don't let it pi$$ you off. He probably doesn't have any friends. He'll be shocked to know that his resume was already in a stack filled with everything from former Soviet MIG pilots to Vietnamese rickshaw drivers. If he thinks he can keep it a secret, well.............

Rice, I think you should find out who he is and go kick his a$$!!
:D :D

a hole

Rice,
Like the last post said,"kick his a$$"; i got your back

Thanks Everyone!!!

I thought that helping out someone else couldn't be a bad thing. Thanks again for all the kind words. I'm sure he was just an abused child or something. Now its time for some serious BBQ and a few cold ones. Think I might even go for some BBQ Lamb and a shot of Ouzo this weekend.

Rice,

Thanks man... I think most appreciate what you do for this forum... I just got laid off myself 2 days ago... so yea, I can appreciate a lead... though it may not be appetizing to someone else may be enough for me to put some food on the table at the moment..... thx again...

And even though I will be joining the unemployment line , I would still be more than willing to help anyone out...

You have to be Greek. Are you going to eat the eye balls? Surprisingly, they are not half bad.

I don't mean to hijack the thread, but could someone clue me in on this Brazilian BBQ thing. I'm a huge BBQ fan and curious about that avatar. Everyone keeps saying how great it is. Whats the deal?
