Any JFK commuters out there use a hotel close to the airport?
If so, which one and what is the crew rate (if any)?

As always, any help is appreciated!

I'm not directly answering your question b/c I'm not "crew" but do not, under any circumstances stay at the JFK-Ramada. I've stayed at $35/night Motel 6's, $40/night Hojo's, and the JFK-Ramada, a hotel, not a motel, is the absolute worst place to stay. If it comes down to you wanting to stay there, PM and I'll give you the dirt on them.

I would however recommend the Holiday Inn which is where I ended up after a couple of nights at the Ramada.

Most crews stay at the Five Towns Hotel on Rockaway Blvd. Very dependable van service.

Ah yes, the JFK Ramadan...

pop the windows and let the soothing fragrance of the sewage treatment plant freshen your stale room.

And right on the airport, so it usually doesn't take the bus more than a half hour to pick you up. Unless you have to stop at Air India and/or Pakistan Airlines and load a couple dozen steamer trunks, goats, parts for a '56 Chevy, etc. :D

Oh man. So you've been there too! Yikes. I actually flew on the Concorde after staying there. So I stayed in a F-grade hotel and then flew in a class above 1st class.

What a crazy week that was! :)

The Raddison at JFK has alot of airline people and some people go to the Comfort Inn(Suites) across the Belt Parkway for about $59.

I have used the Clarion 718-335-1200, the Ramada (good bar) 718-651-2100 and the Sunrise (onsite Chinese restaurant) 516-593-1600. They all provide transportation and a crew rate of around $70 after taxes. Also try the car service at 718-846-6666 for transport between LGA and JFK.

The "Five Towns" Inn.... You can't go wrong.

AA

Love that pound cake:D

5 Towns. Near JFK, decent food close and all the donuts you can eat!

Ditto the dependable van.

All terrorists reading this board to get information on crew hotels, please log off now. We don't need you knowing that my airline stays at the Holiday Inn near IAD when we... DERNIT!! What was I thinking!?

Seems to me the STAFF at most hotels are more of a risk than anyone who might be reading this board.

Anyone know what happened to my Ray Bans at the <hotel name deleted> in Cleveland, OH, USA??

And they wonder why pilots always play jokes on them.

You're in more danger from the guy at the end of the bar than from some wacko reading this board.
