Looks like each city will get 4 190 flts per day to JFK starting in July. I would have thought each of these cities could support 320 service, afterall tiny Portland got 4 320s per day. I guess these mkts are more competitive and B6 wants to see how they are received before flipping to the 320....smart.

NEW YORK, April 13, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- JetBlue Airways Corp. (Nasdaq:JBLU) today announces it will begin service between New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), its hometown, and the North Carolina cities of Charlotte, starting July 12, and Raleigh-Durham, starting July 20, with four daily round-trip flights to each city on its new EMBRAER 190 aircraft. JetBlue will bring low fares to these cities, with introductory one-way fares from JFK starting at $69(a,b) each way, and regular fares between 40 and 70 percent lower than current market rates. Regular one-way fares between New York and Charlotte will range between $89(b) and $199(b). Regular one-way fares between New York and Raleigh-Durham will range between $79(b) and $199(b). Roundtrip purchase is never required on JetBlue.

JetBlue will operate four daily flights between New York and both Charlotte and Raleigh-Durham, using its brand-new EMBRAER 190 aircraft. CLT is a great area, I wish SWA would go there. I would think about moving back to NC then.

What are the intro fares ? 69 bucks ? Southwest is already all over RDU.... They have made a nice 'nest' in RDU after Midway faded... Gonna run Delta outa town in RDU with them low fares ??

Charlotte is pain to operate out of.. ground delay program in effect... EDC time to ATL... please... takes longer to get off the ground than fly.. good thing we get paid at door close !!

Where is JetBlue getting their gate space from in CLT? I didn't think there was even 1 gate available. Airtran got the last available gate, and I thought they requested the vacated FlyI gate as well. I figured that was the only thing keeping SWA from announcing new service there as well. Are you guys sharing a gate with someone?
