JetBlue QOL and Future Bases

Two questions:

1. Any thoughts on how overall QOL at JetBlue compares to that at similar LCC operations, such as SouthWest, Frontier, or AirTran? Is the QOL on the EMB any different than on the Airbus?

2. The JetBlue routemap shows 6 "key" cities, 4 of which are current domiciles (JFK, LGB, BOS, and FLL). OAK and IAD are listed as key cities, too. Is there any talk about either of those (OAK or IAD) becoming future domiciles? Any other future domicile possibilities?

Thanks

Bring your trash bags fpr cabin cleanup and your customer care kits...and maybe a few $100 bills to pass out for the delays to help with the passenger bill of rights...

How original. BTW, SW guys and gals help in the cabin when they have time as well, yet no mention of trash bags and cabin cleanup for them. Your dislike for us is noted, let it go...

If you are a SkyWester...stay there and wait for Southwest or F9.

If you'd rather be based out west, don't count on JB as it will take 6+ months to even be bottom reserve in LGB, then very little movement. If you live in the LA basin, go for it. If not, I'd wait for WN or F9.

As for the 190 vs. 320.... trips are more productive on the 320. The 190 operations are concentrated in the NE with 3-5 legs/day. It's relatively easy for a lineholder on the 320 to get 4-day trips worth nearly or over 24 hours. If you can get 5hrs/day avg. on the 190 you are lucky.

Always talk of OAK and IAD as well as MCO as future domiciles. Just talk though. Believe it when you see it. LGB has no room to grow unless they co-domicle with BUR and ONT.

Consider this. Many pilots here have their applications in at places like FedEx, UPS, Southwest and even Continental and Delta. There is currently a shakeout of the folks returning to United and even some to US Airways. Why? They believe the grass is greener over there. Maybe it is, maybe not.

If I were looking for a job right now, I'd look first at where I want to be domiciled, then at the other factors.

Good luck.

QOL at JB is not bad at all. Like most airlines, just get thru the first year and get on some type of routine and it's not a big deal.

I lived in base for most of my 15 years at my former legacy carrier. Now I commute to JFK. I find that I am not really gone much more than I was before.

Just a little talk of an OAK base, but nothing concrete at this point.

JetBlue is a good place to work, but in the end it's still an airline, with the typical airline lifestyle.
