Anyone have any idea what it takes for a corporate/fractional
guy to get the call at JetBlue?

Total time, PIC hours, jet hours,
type of aircraft currently flying, education, etc...

Seems most corporate pilots that get called are flying corporate "heavy iron,"
Falcons, Gulfstreams, Challengers, etc...

Is that what they're looking for?

I've been updating every couple weeks for nearly 2 years.
No luck cracking the code yet.

I have been told by 2 people in management at JB the following:

If you are military.....2000 hours TT. Which equates to 8000 hours for a civilian (this is what I was told by one of the men). Also, the gentleman told me I should leave my commuter TP PIC job and get me some RJ SIC time.....

Dude, PIC is where it is at. I wouldn't think about leaving unless I had at least 2000 PIC TP. Another option might be to advance to check airman at your current position even though it is TP I think that would be favorable to SIC in an RJ.

I've seen some guys on the message boards with no Jet time but PIC turbo prop that got hired. I'm not sure about the new application but with the old application it was very important to highlight all your assets. Checkairman is also a good thing. The average TT seems to be around 6000.

JetBlue hires a mix of guys. One guy in my crashpad flew Dash 8's for 10 years. No jet time at all. Most of the civ furloughed guys have no jet pic but lots of jet sic. It was all turbo prop back when we were capt's. Someone over here told me that you are only competing against people in your same catagory. IE.... mil fighters in one stack. mil heavy's in one stack. Furloughed major guys in one stack. Regional guys in one stack. Corporate guys in another stack. That's what I heard... don't know if it's true. Hope that helps.

so much for the preference given to those already flying the A320.
A guy I know with 1700 PIC and 4500 SIC just on the A320 and 7500TT and he has was told he is not competitive.
I guess it is good if they are putting everyone into stacks with their own category, it helps gives everyone a chance.

Yeah, that sounds a little hard to believe.

dudes, get over it........
I saw it with my own eyes when he updated........ putter plainly said he is not competitive.
It's not like that is what he wanted to see or know since that is his dream to go to fly for them. He has been updating with them for years and Dean himself wrote to him about 3 years ago when he only had a year or two on the 320 and said he had to get the PIC time and now that he has some, he was super hopeful and didn't expect to see that when he updated, shocked when he saw it and told me to look what was on the screen.
Wish it wasn't true for him as he has never had a call from them yet, but he still waits hopefully.

I keep telling him to go get typed on the 737 and try for Southwest, but he won't do it. A true JetBlue dreamer.

Dude! I agree....that's why when they told me that I said "oh, thanks for the advice" and stayed at with my lowly TP PIC position. Needless to say, I never got a call. :)

You might as well forget it, TP PIC time is worthless at JetBlue. I mean... Even 6200 time in type w/1700PIC IN THE AIRPLANE THEY FLY isn't enough... Whaddya need, 20kPIC in a TP to even have them allow you to apply? ;)

They're gonna have a hard time finding "qualified" applicants to fill those new mini-Airbus positions in a few months. I mean, who has 6200 time in type and 1700PIC in the new Embraers to even be "competitive"?

Well I can think of quite a few but they probably don't want to take a paycut for 5 years just so they can commute out of JFK to do it.

You know people who have 6200hrs in the new Embraers, huh? :D

The three guys I talked to that got hired all had zero A320 time. One had zero jet time. Check out willflyforfood. His post is there.

**CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED**it IP.
I thought we were talking about the 145.
Sorry.

I didn't think **CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED**it was worth censoring.

I'll use darnit next time unless that gets censored too.

It's not his Ab time, it's tt he's lacking. Most guys over there are getting hired with more than 10,000 tt.
