Can an ATP/AGI/IGI who is typed and current on XXX jet provide ground instruction to another airman to satisfy aeronautical knowledge for issuance of PIC or SIC type on xxx jet?

FAR 61.215/3b states:
b) A person who holds an advanced ground instructor rating is authorized to provide:
(1) Ground training in the aeronautical knowledge areas required for the issuance of any certificate or rating under this part;
(2) Ground training required for any flight review; and
(3) A recommendation for a knowledge test required for the issuance of any certificate under this part.

Inputs please! Thanks!!

91 or 135?

Both. The operation is actually based overseas and the foreign aviation authority there just approved the instructor to teach ground school for the type jet based on the instructor's FAA AGI/IGI.

Now the concern is determining if the instructor can trust the foreign aviation authority with the guidance on the appropriate endorsements so it won't come back to bite him on his 6.

Well, the answer is out of my league...I know some would disagree with this, but I'd call the local fsdo and talk to your/a POI...see what they think. I'm interested in the answer though.

Just an afterthought, call one of the instructors at FSI or CAE and ask.
