Anyone familiar with this California-based soon-to-be fractional operator of Eclipse Jets (looks like Camarillo based)? Evidently Jet-Alliance will be the recipient of the first Eclipse and not Dayjet. I posted the hiring-related information at the bottom. My questions would be:

1. Given that it should start up pretty soon, does anyone know much about growth plans, hiring plans and even starting salaries for PIC and SIC?

2. Anyone have any relevant or more up-to-date information related to this operation?

I copied the following press release from its website: www.jetalliance.com:

Jet-Alliance, a California-based shared jet ownership company, will take delivery of the first (Serial #0001), much-anticipated Eclipse 500 very light jet (VLJ).
The jet, sporting tail number N508JA, will be featured at the Eclipse Aviation pavilion at AirVenture Oshkosh 2006, the world’s largest general aviation air show.
The revolutionary Eclipse 500 offers a whole new level of affordability and convenience to busy executives. Until now, private jets were considered a luxury, but Jet-Alliance will offer shared ownership, typically referred to as fractional ownership, in the Eclipse 500 for less than $100,000, making ownership much more accessible.
Randall Sanada, President of Jet-Alliance, will be at the air show along with Dave Crowe, a co-owner in aircraft Serial #0001 in the Jet-Alliance program.
The first Eclipse 500 recently rolled off the assembly line and is slated to make its first test flight this week. Issuance of the FAA Type Certificate for the Eclipse 500 Jet is eminent. Jet-Alliance will take delivery of the aircraft shortly thereafter

Professional Pilots

Jet-Alliance Pilots are among the best in the industry. They reflect the Jet-Alliance “Make-it-happen” culture and our core values of Safety, Integrity, Stewardship and Excellence.
All Jet-Alliance Captains possess an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) rating with at least 3,000 hours of experience. First Officers must have at least 1,000 hours of experience.
Candidates for hire are encouraged to send their resumes to [email protected].

Tough to say the pilots are among the best when they haven't started operations yet.

Also looks like if you're hired as an FO at the mins, it'll be a LOOOOOOOONG time before upgrade if they hold to the 3000TT for captains.

Still, might be good experience for a 1000-hr flight instructor who wants to get some jet time and particularly good glass time (new Avio system).

Wonder if their pay is competitive vs. alternatives - why wouldn't a 3,000 hour PIC not apply to Netjets for its LAX base instead? This might be a good opp for recently retired airline pilots in the LA area who want to get back into the game.

Doesn't Avantair also have a base at Camarillo? Do any of the Camarillo-based Avantair guys know anything about this operation?

I'm sure these Eclipse operators will want good pilots. But if it comes to tie, skinny pilots will win every time. That airplanes isn't for faties.

Considering they, Eclipse has overstated their certification, I imagine many road blocks until they can fly routine operations. Then they will have to deal with load and performance numbers.

I'm sure everyone wants good pilots flying their fancy new mini jets, but lets be realistic boys and girls. They will fill the seat(s) (crew) as cheaply as possible.

Remember, 135 single pilot w/autopilot waiver.

read that the autopilot and most of the automation wont be working when the jets are first delivered. So your new eclipse will be delivered with a GARMIN 430 until they get the software issues resolved.

May be the reason they need SIC's

When are they expected to be delivered?

don't know...they've gotta get the airplane certified first.
