Anyone know if there is a link to a jep chart legend online? Looking for a handy reference when I'm away from the airport/pubs. I did a google search, but came up with nothing other than DVD's and catalogs for sale.

Thanks in advance.

You would think that somewhere out there, for the good of all pilots knowledge, there is a jepp chart legend online. Unfortunately, I could not find one. Pretty much the only way you get a lengend is to purchase a regional version of their approach plates, pay their fee to use there online chart helper (which you have to pay seperately for approach chart legend, airport legend, and enroute legend), or you can buy jepp's sim charts (of course for use only with flight sim- but still has a legend).

Out of those choices probably your best bet is to get a regional section of approach plates for the area you do your flying in. That way you have current local charts and a get a legend. I think each region is around $20-30.

website is here: Jeppesen

for some reason i don't see the prices on jepps website anymore...so here is another site with some pricing....

sorry to answer your original question you have to pay for the online stuff.

Thanks KS. Our company has a sub (all of USA) for our fleet. I could also just wait for a Rev then grab one of the old ones and stick it in one of my "trip kit" books too.

Thanks for the speedy response KS.

No worries,

have to admit at first i didn't really look at your total time there. Of course you have access to jepp's.

If you do run into anyone who has tried jeppesen's online approach plate guide or you end up trying it yourself...let me know. I would be curious how helpful it is.

Contact Jeppesen customer service (I think there's a way to do it on their web site) and ask for the "Chart Training Guide". It's a nice fold-out that explains everything on the enroute and terminal charts. If you have any difficulty, let me know and I can get an e-mail address at Jeppesen to contact.

norskman2, thanks...will give that a shot when I get back home. I appreciate the good suggestion.
