Hey all, I know that the website says 1000 pic turbine, but have heard they are relaxing this restriction. Is this just wishful thinking? Or is it possible to get on without it? Thanks!

That's not quite right. Here are the mins from JetBlue.com:

• 1500 hours total time in airplanes (excluded: Helicopter, Simulator, Flight Engineer time)
• 1000 hours turbine in airplanes
• 1000 hours Pilot in Command Time*
• 1000 hours in airplanes at or above 20,000 pounds (maximum takeoff weight) or 1000 hours in large jet-powered airplanes at or above 12,500 pounds (maximum takeoff weight)

The requirement is for 1000 turbine AND 1000 PIC. In other words, you don't need 1,000 turbine PIC. You can have 1,000 piston PIC and 1,000 turbine SIC, and you would meet the minimum.

Good luck. B6 is a great place to work.

Thanks for the reply, so it is safe to say that 1000hrs PIC in a 172 would count? Technically I guess I "signed for the aircraft."

I was hired with mostly single engine PIC time. I have some PIC 135 time in a Metroliner but other than that, small twins and singles. Anything is possible. Depends on the rest of your time I suppose. Good Luck!

Apply, it cant hurt. But I wouldn't get my hopes up, I havent heard of anyone getting hired latley without tb pic.

While not the norm, it can happen and did as recently as April. If you are strong enough in the other categories, i.e., glass, large turbine aircraft, 121 time, etc., and have some B6 friends in your corner, you can get by without the 1k of turbine PIC.

Great place to work. Good luck.
