Just got furloughed and also just got an interview opportunity in Shenzhen, PRC for a new cargo start-up called Jade Cargo. Seems to have solid backing, decent equipment (new 747-400ERFs) and expansion plans to Europe and the Americas.
Wonder if there are any downsides apart from obvious with a start-up?
Anyone else interviewing or considering interviewing next month?
Willing to share info. Thanks.

Check pprune, there's been a good bit of discussion over there about Jade. I think Lufthansa has some involvement with the financing or logistics of startup. As far as I know they have some contract flying lined up with DHL.

757drvr,

i don't have any intel, but I would be curious to learn how you fare. i'd be interested in heading to china, so keep us posted on your progress. if you've got some counsel, be sure to throw it my way.

thanks, and best wishes,

v

Be very very very careful. Make sure you know ALL the terms of employment, living conditions, and training bonds that are involved. Even then, these are the kinds of companies that change the rules after the fact and you probably have very little recourse with a Chicom company.
