Looking for information of obtaining JAA ATPL. I know there are 14 written exams but not much else. Any good sources of information on how to do it and what it costs?

you can do a correspondence course with a company like naples air center in fla, there are others but i cannot think of them right now.check out their web site. that will give you a good idea of what is involved.

www.pprune.org/forums has a lot more information than is available here. It's a UK based board, similar to this one.

Use the search function & you'll find a **LOT** of information about the JAR ATPL. Otherwise browse the 'Wannabe's' forums.

One thing I would add would be to contact the aviation authority in your country to see what exactly they accept in terms of training. Cover all your bases. The training is not easy and with the dollar so low, it can get expensive very....very quickly. Good luck

[font=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]When you have completed the assessment form you need to send it or take it to the CAA with your original licences and log books. The CAA will tell you that you need to pass two written exams, Human Performance and Aviation Law, and pass a flight test on the aircraft you are rated on. The flight test is referred to as a skills test, it is part handling check and part IR renewal check.
