Bullsh1t!! Is this true? I've been working on being competitive for upt for the past three years (800tt/ 90+credit hours/lor's/ volunteering/while working full time). I want to be an officer but I'd rather be enlisted intel in the guard than be forced into an ABM slot over any flying career even if it is flight instructing. Now im pissed I didn't go down the WOFT road two years ago. So I am guessing my best bet is to apply for the first of the fy2006 slots and hope I make my one shot?

Don't worry, just stay on target. This stuff is called chaff, a distraction. Just keep doing what you're doing, it sounds like you are on the right track. The AF still needs the same amount of pilots as it did before you read that note. Look on the bright side, you're not at the academy where you can't turn down a slot. If you don't get what you want simply don't sign and look elsewhere.
