Fellow Pilots:

A pilot buddy of mine is convinced that he is in a
black list and hence he can not advance in his aviation
career. I never believed him until recently that we both
applied to ExpressJet. Within a day we both had our phone
interviews and answered the same questions.

I was told that I should expect another interview in 60-90
days and he received an email within few hours stating that
they could not find a job that matched his qualifications.
This has made me wonder about his claim about a black list.
He is more qulaified than I am, however he was fired once
from a part 135 operation.

Does anyone have any idea if such a thing as black list exist
in our industry and if it does, how can one prove his/her
innocence and be off the list?

Thank you in advance

Maybe he didn't answer the questions correctly. There's a list for that.

Short answer: YES

Do I know the details of it? No...

If you ask any airline they will tell you no, but if you find the right person in the HR dept. and get to know them you will find out.

All I do know is that if you **ss off the wrong person that your name will wind up on it.

It's rumored that the list extends across all of the carriers, but I think it is more likely a few share the same list. Not all of the carriers may be in on it. I can say for sure that it is at most, if not all, of the top 6 network carriers.

Your friend seems a little green to be on such a list though, unless he really screwed up and I'm not just talking about a personality conflict. More than likely he probably didn't fit the mold at ExpressJet for whatever reason. Keep trying!!!

That's my 2 cents, take it or leave it because I know there will be those who will call me a liar, you either know about it or you don't....;)

Good Luck!!!

There is a black list for scabs. I am not aware of the black list for screw-ups. If there is one, then you must really have to screw-up bad to get on it.

PFT List

How about a blacklist for those who PFT'd. That would be one that I'd like to get my hands on.

Well!!!!!!!!

I hope they don't know when I have been naughty
