I am looking for a descent flight school in Northern California to do my CFI.
I saw the flight school in Livermore were they do their flight training. But cannot guarantee me a job if I finish their CFI flight course. They also train International students only at the atwater campus in Castle airport. They told me they were the best flight school and its tough to get a job their...I might need to teach a few hundred hours before I can teach flying at their campus in Atwater.
Training cost starts aprox. $12,000 CFI and CFII
Does any one Know the reputation of Sierra Academy of Aeronautics.

I would apreciate it...

$12,000 for CFI and CFII? Are you kidding me? That is a total rip off.

Gotta wear a uniform there too I think...big black mark. :puke:

As far as hiring goes, for a while I was looking to get hired at the LVK (Livermore) campus. I'd never attended there, but I have a friend doing his CFI up there and gave me a good recommendation. Next thing I know I had someone calling me up asking for a resume and telling me they're hurting for instructors.

Honestly, if you're a graduate of the program and they're still hurting like they are, I wouldn't think you'd have a problem unless you did something stupid. Don't mind the ridiculous 8-hour written exam for the interview either.

Oh and I should add, paying that much to fly crappy older airplanes isn't worth it. I think they have newer airplanes as well, but a lot of their fleet is old. In fact, they just had one of their Duchesses go down indefinitely for a broken main gear overcenter brace. I've seen pictures. The thing sits funny on the ramp now.
