currently it is a matter of months,6-11 from backseat to right seat.

The new hire class thats going on right now, will have 4-5 FO upgrades that were hired last November join them next week for GS.

Are your 727s completely analog (beyond TCAS) or do you use FMS, etc.? I have recently seen some nice retrofitted 727s with EFIS tubes and pretty nice FMS setups.

steam guages all the way,the only fms is between our ears, gps is fitted to the track birds. great ships, fast, decadently loud, and smoky, handle extremely well, but ancient in the airnav department. we fly these ships from spool up to shut down, with very little silicon assistance.

ah,yes i stand corrected.

It was announced yesterday that there will be a June, August, and October class at Champion. They are expecting to lose all the NWA furloughs that get recalled this summer. Good news for all the guys sitting sideways!

Do these guys hire for the right seat at all? Their recruitment looks like it's all directed towards SOs only. ... Also, anyone know what their schedule is like(is it a 2 wks on / 2 wks off) ?? Thanks

Everyone starts in the sideways slot, but upgrade right now is 6-9 months. Lot of guys getting recalled back to Northwest. All out and backs, with overnights for the NBA trips usually.
