I would be, but I don't see the general Flightinfo demographic idling around in IRC...

...just like the tutorial that I linked to explains.

One of the good things about AOL is you can create multiple private chat rooms at no cost BUT I may be the only fan of AOL on this board so I think it is quite possible that I could be chatting with me, myself, and I on many occasions.... (just a gut feeling) :D

If anyone else has AOL let me know !! !!

I do think chat rooms would be great if we could have them on this board and I would even be willing to pay a reasonable fee for access....

Hmm, this gets me thinking.... There are plenty of java IRC clients out there that could actually implemented here. If we use one here (with the server and channel pre-filled-in, and simple fields for the nickname and such instead of IRC commands), the non-IRC-savvy people could chat with us with no trouble, while the rest of us can still use the traditional IRC clients we're comfortable with.

Why not just have a "normal" chat room set up on this board?, the other seems not only confusing but also time consuming and it seems that the smallest flaw(s) would prohibit one from being able to chat..... I guess it just seems more logical to just set up a "regular" chat room and not have to worry about the other possible problems with the other format-

Why not a chat room like on the AOPA site.?

I saw nothing but a picture on the other site and did not feel like having to read directions on how to use that format...:D

chat+no directions= everyone happy!! !!

great weekend to ya'll

Well that's the point of a Java IRC client... in the background, it connects to an IRC server, but to you, the user, (if configured by the webmaster for this purpose) it just shows a field to fill in your nickname and a "connect" button. No frills, no hassle.
