After looking at gouges, I've found this question that I cannot find an answer to. It is either worded wrong or I'm an idiot :D What are the distances of threshold markers down the runway? I've looked in the AIM and the only thing I can come up with is number of threshold stripes pertaining to the width of the runway. Any answers would be greatly appreciated!

I've never seen more than ones set of threshold markers. If you are referring to the touchdown zone markers that follow, they're every 500 ft with the Aiming Point Markers in between.

TDZ Markings

TDZ markings are placed as stated above - every 500'. Aim point is 1000' down the runway and part of TDZ markings. TDZ markings are painted on the first 3000' of the runway, or the first HALF of the runway, when the runway is less than 6000' long.

Thanks for the responses! One more question, this I can't find anywhere. What is the maximum distance in developing an airway between High VORs? I wanna say 200NM?

Attention to detail

Look. I don't wanna bust your balls but in your profile you claim you hold a CFII. I assume your airline application states the same qualification. That means you're an authority on FAR/AIM.

Both questions are easily answered in the AIM.

As a professional pilot you need to be able to distinguish between fixed distance markers, touchdown zone markings and theshold markings. (AIM Section 3.)

You should be able to find the maximum service volume for a High VOR (130nm). AIM Section 1.

Therefore, the maximum Victor airway distance would be 260nm.

This ain't high school no more. You're gonna have to dig or the other kids'll pass you by.

It's too competitive out there. Get your ducks in a row.

I hope I sound like your dad.
And get a haircut too.

If you had said the max distance for a Jet airway would be 260, I would agree...but the High VOR service volume is 40NM from 1,000-14,500AGL, 100NM from 14500AGL-FL600, and 130NM from 18,000AGL-FL450. Technically, max distance for a Victor would be 200NM, and only 80 if it's below 14,500AGL.

I only know this so well because it's part of the DPE written test.. :D

And let that be a lesson to you

Frac Capt--Excellent point. Like I said, you better get all your ducks in a row or you'll be drivin' 50 year old junk with the rest of us losers.
