Okay here is the deal...I left one job for another airline job and this job fell through when the company decided to push back its training dates with no outlook on when I would start. Now I have a few more airline interviews and I'm sure a question like this might come up: Why did you quit your previous job? Or what if XYZ airline calls you up for a training date? or Why did you apply with them before us? My reasons are as follows...First company I applied with and they hired me on the spot so I wasn't going to say no to that I wasn't going to turn down a job offer. Does anybody think that is a valid and good response that HR or A chief pilot would accept.

The only way that you're going to get yourself in trouble in this situation is if you do what you're doing right now...try to think up some cheesy memorized response that is what you think they want to hear. Just be honest with them....thats all that they are really looking for.

Skyboy is absolutely right. Tell them the truth. I interviewed with 3 companies 8 months ago. In the interview, company X asked the following question, "Do you honestly expect me to believe you'd rather work here than at company Y or Z?" My response: "No sir, I do not." Got the "You're Hired" letter within 6 days. Always be honest!
