Interview help?

Maybe someone can give me some advice...

My timing may be terrible, but I have applications in several companies that are hiring. I have been told I "might" get a spring interview at FedEx. Bad news is I've done most of my interviews for corporate jobs with old buddies, not real airline companies. Where are the best sim prep courses? Has anyone tried any of the interview coaches out there and would they recommend them? I am hoping for a Fedex interview next year, but I also have buddies at ATA and UPS. I am also applying to Atlas if anyone has any advice. I'd hate to blow my big chance.

Before my interview w/ FedEx I went to ATL & took the interview prep from AirInc. I hated to give Mr Darby anymore of my money but I also had not interviewed at a major. If you are still associated w/ the military, at many of the larger bases they have full time counselors that can give you a mock interview, get one of your pilot buddies to sit in and ask those technical questions. If you have 0 time in a jet (like myself, props) I would get 1 or 2 hrs in a full motion sim.

There is a great resource here on the web. His screen name is AlbieF15 and he did some great work for a good friend of mine who just interviewed and got hired by FedEx in September. My friend swears by his prep! Look him up or click on the Emerald Coast Aviation Consulting button in the upper left hand corner. It's great and unlike the others, if you don't get hired, you get your money back. Best of luck to you!

How specifically did Emerald Interview help your buddy?

No refunds to my knowledge. I'll ask my buddy for more details, but I spoke with him this a.m. and he said that the prep made him very confident about the interview and the processes...-... more to follow

AirInc prep is overpriced. I used them for another airline and it was not worth the $$$$. Don't waste your time or money... stick with the good phone prep. If you really want to see yourself on tape then set up a mock interview and tape it.

AlbieF15 does a great job with JetBlue interview prep. I did my my SWA prep with Rob Beeks and JetBlue prep with Albie. Their prep and advice is very similar and they will both go the extra mile to get you ready - both great guys. If I had to do it again and I was interviewing with JetBlue, FDX OR SWA.... I'd choose Albie in a heartbeat. His interview deal is a steal and you can't beat a money back guarantee!!

A buddy of mine in our unit went to the Air inc prep. He also got info from pilots already at Fed Ex. Being here in Memphis TN its not hard to find out about the sim ride, but everything else is up in the air. When he interviewed back in Oct, he said Air Inc was so far off it was not funny. He said Air inc was a waste of time and money. I have heard that several times in here. So its up to you if you are going to ATL and pay for a room and Air inc.
