I'm vying for an internship position this summer at a regional airline.

I'm starting to get the ball rolling and looking for insight from any of you who have intern experience in the field of aviation.

I imagine that before securing the spot there will be an interview. Any good web-sites for aviation-related interview prep.?

Will fly 4 food is another site that has some decent stuff. I may be completely mistaken but I don't think you will be "interviewed" on that kind of stuff but more so on your character, personality, educational background, accomplishments, why you want the internship?, why this airline?, what do you have to offer?, etc, etc, etc, ..... I am sure this will vary from airline to airline and since I have not done any internships I really cannot say for sure on what to expect. I am sure quite a few members have done this and will be able to answer the specifics.

My current company at one point in time did offer an internship before insurance reqts put a stop to that for seniors at one of the local colleges and the interviews were tailored more towards "them" and their personality and accomplishments instead of being a technical based interview. I think alot will depend on what type of internship it is and what you will be doing for the specific airline. For example, I believe some interns have to take a sim ride and they are graded on it.

good luck

I am applying for the internship at ASA and the position will depend highly on where help is needed. Delta is an option as well, however since the regional realm of aviation is my next goal, I feel ASA would be wiser to pursue.

Seriously, is that true? I would love to have the opportunity to take a sim ride for interning.

I thought I recalled hearing Flychicaga mention a sim ride that he took while doing the internship, he can confirm and better explain this. Some of the other regionals may give you the sim ride (time) however it may or may not be graded. When I was in the COEX program I believe the interns were able to aquire sime time.. All depends on the internship I guess and the way that it is set up.

good luck

350,
A buddy of mine interned with Southwest last summer and had exclusive access to the Sims but I don't recall it being a part of the interview process. Nice benefit though!

Thanks U-I pilot
