Came across this job posting for next(?) year.

Note the low times required when compared to any 737 job in the US. Could be a real good gig if you are prepared to jump through a few hoops and have no family committments.

First time I have seen a European operator advertisng and stating that FAA licenses are acceptable, provided you have 737 type. Getting the FAA to JAR conversion is generally speaking too restrictive in terms of time and money and therefore a non-starter.

They must be real short of 37 guys/gals and most likely this will mean a JAR validation of your FAA ATP. Getting a JAR First Class Medical is no problem and similar to getting the FAA one. Also, there are several JAR-approved AMEs here in the US who can do these.

The catch? You guessed it, you still need to have the "right to live and work in the EU". Nevertheless, this may work for some who have the family connections and/or not competitive for Southwest. You don't need ANY PIC Turbine here and it's all international!

Good luck.......

First Officers

We never settle for anything less than the very best, perhaps that is why we have been high flyers for 40 years. Thomsonfly is part of TUI UK, an integral part of the TUI Group - the worlds largest leisure travel business, which now operates over 100 Jet Aircraft Worldwide.

We have achieved this by holding firm to our values, and consistently reaching the high standards though a real commitment and enthusiasm for our work.

We are looking for Pilots who are willing to go that extra mile. Customer-focused professionals, who can rise above and beyond the call of duty.

We offer real opportunities for successful Pilots to experience different flying rosters, operational demands, time to command and reward structures, with well established good practice in rostering, so wherever possible you will know in advance where you will be.

First Officers wishing to apply must have 1500 hours total time to include either 500 hours jet experience or 1000 turbo hours. 737/757 Type Rated First Officers may apply with a minimum of 300 hours line experience.

All Pilots must hold a UK issued JAR Licence and a current IR. Those Pilots who hold a non UK issued licence must make an application to the CAA in order to obtain a UK issued licence prior to joining, or you may apply with an FAA ATP with B737 Type Rating.

You will need a Class 1 medical. You must also have the right to live and work in the UK and work in Europe.

We will have vacancies for Summer 2007 from many of our existing bases.

Please note that CVs are not accepted.
