In the coming years (10 to 20 yrs.), which aircraft will become more widely used by regional carriers?

If the UA/CO pilots get what they desire, and everyone else follows, then the most likely answer will be a Cessna 206.

Meanwhile, Toyota, in spite of the "brake" issue is puttin' out cares all over the place. Ford is as profitable as it's ever been. (Remember those rollovers?) Free enterprise will rule out if you let it. Cull the herd.

1) Toyota is about as far as an example of free market, non-interventionist government as you could have chosen. The Japanese government's support of domestic entities is well known. They are protectionist (until it became unnecessary) and give away below market loans to enable their corporations to wage economic warfare against the USA and others. What they have been unsuccessful at securing through conventional warfare, they have attained through economic attacks. We taught them about capitalism, and they ran wild with it, with the aid of a partner in their government.

2) Free enterprise has not existed in this country in a substantial fashion for a very long time.

United is so profitable because the mainline pilots agreed to the scope in order to save their pension. Then Tilton came in and declared chapter 11, and still liquidated their pension, thus double f'ing the employees. How a disgruntled employee in that mix didn't snap and walk into his office with a gun is beyond me.

To expound on what tweaker said, the other success of Toyota is how expensive it is to own a used car in Japan. If your car is over 5-7 years old the taxes go up exponentially. It's cheaper to buy a new one, thus keeping the turn over from the factory high. Don't believe it, take a look at used car prices in Japan.
