This is kinda old news but found it interesting

Read this in the Michigan Aviation magazine that is published by the MDOT (2003 Vol. 36 No.1)

On January 7, 2003, Senator Richard Durbin of Illinois reintroduced legislation to exapnd aviaiton capacity in the Chicago area and to protect the city's Merrill C Meigs Field (CGX). The bill, S. 83, would guarentee the operation of Meigs Field until January 2006 and possibly until January 2026 if the City of Chicago and Meigs Field meet ceratin operating conditoins.

Way to drag your feet!
